It was my understanding that at least part of the reason they changed it so you didn't need to actually de-equip the offending gear was so Exalted weapons didn't take a direct hit during sorties that otherwise required you to remove their patron weapons, even tho the sorties themselves prevented their direct use. Maybe they could add a warning or something but I always think it's funny watching excalibur swing EB around doing no damage on sniper only sorties, lol.

As previously Titania has been hard locked even in Razorwing to a very literal interpretation of the sortie weapon limitations. Excalibur, wukong, valkyr, etc. all work as usual on melee only, but on sniper, assault rifle and shotgun only titanias razorwing guns will work like normal. So in todays sorties I decided to take my Bae Titania even tho I was expecting to be locked to the Diwata because it was a Melee only. All the 'exalted' weapons always behave like that in sorties that disallow their underlying weapon type.
